How to Install CrowdStrike on a Computer
Endpoint protection installations may be centrally managed. Do not attempt to bypass organizational controls or remove existing security software without approval.
Prepare the computer
- Confirm that the device is supported and meets the requirements provided by your administrator.
- Save open work and connect the computer to a reliable power source.
- Check that you have the required administrator permissions or that IT will perform the deployment.
- Follow your organization’s instructions for handling existing endpoint security products.
During installation
- Use only the installer or deployment package supplied through an approved channel.
- Follow the on-screen prompts and allow the process to finish.
- Restart only when prompted by the installer or your administrator.
- Confirm deployment status with your IT team or approved device-management console.
Installation troubleshooting
- Record any installer error code and the approximate time it occurred.
- Check connectivity to your organization’s network or required services.
- Do not disable protection or alter security settings to force installation.
